Dearest Kriss

One day, Loki offered her a potion he'd brewed, one that would restore her youth, and keep her next to him as all the years passed. Kriss refused it. She was happy with one life, a blissful life with him, and their family, and then she could go to whatever afterlife there might be with peace and love in her heart. While he was sorely tempted to press the issue, in the end Loki loved her enough to abide by her wishes.

It was only a matter of time before she would meet her end, and when the time came, she shook the hand of the reaper and went with the smile of a life well lived.

He laid her to rest in the garden, where so much of her work had gone. Planted near her stone he brought back crystal flowers from the future, and charged them with love, kindness, and laughter. Still, he missed her.

Days passed with him sitting at the desk, or standing and staring at her picture. The kids kept up the house and grieved together while Loki mourned alone, but some things are more powerful than even death.

Maybe it's that his heart kept calling for her, or that she couldn't stand to see him weep. Maybe she was sent back, to prevent what Loki might become if left too long on his own with the pain of his loss.

With the help of Kriss, yet again, Loki would remember that he was not alone.

And So It Goes

And so the years went by, and while the young god would never describe himself as contented or satisfied, what he was, was happy. Kriss gave him three beautiful children, and all of herself. Even as her body aged, she was thoroughly loved, and Loki was more than happy to ease the pains of a body not built to last.

As such, things mostly continued as normal in the Odinson household. Children grew and learned, and the paparazzi occasionally suffered when they were more obnoxious than usual.

Loki found himself to be a surprisingly patient tutor, not that his brilliant heir needed a lot of patience.

Kriss, the kind soul that she is, even helped the paparazzi outside when they... spontaneously burst into flames. Totally spontaneous.

The siblings really bonded when they attended college together. Rather than tolerate the horrors of dorm life, they trio pitched in an rented a house for the two terms it took them to get their degrees. They didn't really meet anyone else during that time, but they finally managed to be a close knit little family among themselves.

It started with a game of Foosball. Later, they would learn to play pool. Hel even figured out the washing machine and Sigyn learned to cook. Fenris kept the place in good repair, fixing any of the appliances that would break down from use. Between the three of them, they all took care of each other, and soon they were doing workouts together, or coming home from a long day of classes to shake it to the music and talk about what they'd do when they all got home.

Hel came home with a degree in Fine Arts, determined to take the artistic world by storm. Her name was so big in the art world that she was immediately hired as an art appraiser. Sigyn got her degree in Physical Education, and went straight into professional athletics. Fenris didn't have dreams of a career. What he wanted to do was travel. As such, he chose a career in law enforcement, laboring away to reach a position that would give him opportunities all over the world. To further this, he got his degree in Technology, and upon returning home, flew immediately to China to celebrate.
